DRAG
Sensitively co-designed with the traditional owners of the land, this healthcare facility is one of a kind.
For the first time Aboriginal people in one of the most remote and hottest towns in Australia – over 1400km from Perth – have access to health services close to home.
The design reflects and respects people, culture and Country to an extraordinary degree. The rammed earth cladding itself is Country. The use of endemic plants. Sunshine for its power source. Inclusivity of all community voices in the design process. The architecture resonates with the community as a result – the hope is that this will increase presentation rates and improve preventative health.
